Brace yourself Sunshine Coast! You’ve seen all sorts of Festivals on the Sunshine Coast but never one as wild and over the top as the outrageous "Festival of Fire", at the Caloundra Sharks League Club grounds on Saturday May 27 from 6pm. Organisers say, “If it can be blown up, burnt, or smashed, we’ve stuck it in the show!”, with what is probably the craziest family-fun-variety-spectacular to ever hit the district. And all in the name of charity with Child’s Vision benefitting greatly from this unique event. 
What’s in the Show?
  • Insane Monster Trucks - 5-tonne monster trucks, smashing cars and leaping 10-metres into the air creating car crushing carnage. Plus Monster Sky Wheelies and demonstration
  • Crazy Demolition Derby - The “World’s Worst Drivers” in a no-rules, anything goes, “Crasharama” demolition derby, where the winner is the last car standing in a metal mangling war on wheels.
  • Awesome Jet Car - As if the poor ole’ cars couldn’t suffer any more, a car equipped with a fighter plane jet engine will launch onto the arena bellowing 15-metre huge flames that will attempt to melt the demolition cars to virtually nothing
  • Double Steel Wall Car Stunt -Boxing champion Darren Obah will drive a car into another exploding car and the shock the expected capacity crowd
  • 1 Million Crackers – This must be seen to be believed. Watch a wall of 1 million Chinese firecrackers go off in just 60 seconds!
  • Comedy Car Act – The hilarious roll-over cars “Dipsy” and “Tipsy” comedy car act will have the kids in stiches of laughter
  • Spectacular Fireworks - The brilliant Australia Vs China World Fireworks Championships, where Australia will battle China in a theme-park-style pyrotechnic playoff, setting off over $50,000 worth of stunning fireworks to a choreographed musical soundtrack, along with Chinese Dragon dancers, LED suited costume characters, fire twirlers, special effects, flames, and laser light shows
  • Flames and fire - There will be flames, fire and bangs throughout the entire show
  • Motor Bikes -Motorcycle long distance jump record, Ryen Young's "Wall of Fire" stunt plus junior motorcycle races (very cute!)
  • Heaps More - remote control car demonstrations, hot rods parade, fire truck, Monster Truck Rides, FREE face painting for the kids, pre-show pit party, give-a-ways, food stalls, amusement rides, and more.

VIP SEATING
  • VIP tickets gives you a guaranteed seat in either the VIP Grandstand or on a comfortable plastic chair in the VIP grassed area – both have the best views of the arena. VIPs also get free parking and early entry at 3pm. Hurry, as VIP seats are limited and sell out fast!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What time does the event start?
Gates open at 4:00 pm. Action starts at 6:00 pm. Events will conclude about 8:30 pm. Note: Times may vary prior to event or as events proceed.

Is there parking and at what cost?
There is plenty of parking at the Caloundra Sharks Rugby League Club, Gregory St, Golden Beach and the oval grounds themselves. There is a $5.00 charge per car to park in the Caloundra Sharks Rugby League Club grounds and school. VIP guest get FREE parking.

Is there reserved seating?
Yes. VIP tickets give you a guaranteed seat in either the VIP Grandstand or on a comfortable plastic chair in the VIP grassed area – both have the best views of the arena. VIPs also get free parking and early entry at 3pm. VIP seats are limited and sell out fast! VIP children under 3 are not free because they are supplied with a chair. 

Is there allocated/numbered seating?
No. General admission and VIP admission are both a "first in first served" basis. General admission is outside on designated grassed areas, and VIP seating is either on the VIP Grandstand or on a comfortable plastic chair in the VIP grassed area (both outdoors) with the best views of the arena. Gates open at 4pm (or 3pm for VIPs) if you want to get in early and choose your best spot.  

What should I bring?
General admission seating is outside on designated grassed areas (flat and sloped). VIP seating is outside either on the VIP Grandstand (not undercover) or on a comfortable plastic chair in the VIP grassed area with the best views of the arena. So bring hats, sunscreen, rain protection, etc. General admission should BYO chairs and blankets (there will be a special "blankets only" area). VIPs should bring cushions, blankets, etc. You can bring an esky but no glass and no alcohol. Alcohol is available and can be consumed at the Sharks League Club outdoor public bar in the designated areas. 

Is this show suitable for children?
Absolutely! The "festival of Fire" is a family variety spectacular show, suitable for children of all ages but please note - the show has loud pyrotechnics effects, strobe lights, and other effects. The Monster Trucks have muffled (quieter) exhaust systems but still make some noise.    

Do you have pensioner or student discounts?
We have kept all tickets costs to the lowest prices possible and so so we don't have pensioner or student discounts. 

Can I buy tickets at the gate?
Yes. You can buy tickets at the gate on the day of the event and at the same prices. We cannot guarantee there will be any VIP tickets available as they usually sell out fast and also please note that we are expecting a few thousand people to arrive at the gate between 4-6 pm, so there could be an up to 30 min wait to purchase tickets at the gate. Pre-purchased tickets will go straight through.  

What are ticket prices for disabled patrons and carers? 
Ticket prices for disabled patrons are the same except for adults (16 and over) who can purchase tickets at the teen ticket price (either online or at the gate). Carers get free admission on presentation of their "Companion Card".  

Is there disabled access for patrons and carers?
Yes. The show grounds are mostly flat grassed areas for easy access. We also have a seating area for disabled patrons (and carers) with wheel chair access and priority viewing (This is also an area in the VIP grassed area for disabled patrons (and carers) with wheel chair access and priority viewing. VIP grandstand access will depend on the individual). The Caloundra Sharks League Club has disabled toilets with ramp access. Carers get free admission on presentation of their "Companion Card".

What merchandise is available for sale?
A full range of monster truck and novelty merchandise is available at the event. 

What food is available for purchase?
A good range of fast foods, soft drinks, ice creams, etc

Do you offer Monster Truck rides?
Yes! You can ride in a real Monster Truck ("Captain Koala") that has been specially modified to take 10 passengers at a time and is suitable for children and adults. The monster truck stays on the ground (no jumps!) at all times and cruises around the arena but you can still experience the trill of acceleration and the growl of the V8 engine.

The First print of flyers have a different price?
There was a misprint on the first run of Flyers for the VIP Teen Ticket. The actual price is $40 as it states on the website.

What will happen if it rains?
Unless there is an absolute downpour of rain, the Festival of Fire will go ahead, so bring an umbrella because seating is outside. A little rain is OK but in the event of heavy rain/storms the Festival of Fire will be rescheduled for Sun 28th May or the following Sat 3rd June. Please make sure you are also available on those dates. Please note there are no ticket refunds.
